The Bedminster Land Conservancy is committed to ensuring that we follow the best practices in land preservation programs as we perform our work.  Our current and future preservation efforts depend on this integrity and commitment.  We always work to ensure that the great strides made in land preservation efforts over the years are not undone and that the reputation of our land preservation programs continues to gain great respect.  In keeping with that dedication, the Conservancy voluntarily applied to the Land Trust Alliances’ pilot accreditation program. We were therefore pleased to be one of 22 land trusts (from 19 states) that were accepted as a first-round applicant.

The Land Trust Accreditation Commission requests feedback from stakeholders as part of the accreditation process.  The Commission accepts signed, written comments from the public on pending applications.  We are notifying you of this opportunity to comment.

Comments must relate to the Bedminster Land Conservancy’s compliance with the accreditation indicator practices.  These practices address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust. For the full list of indicator practices see: www.lta.org/accreditation/practices.htm.

To learn more about the accreditation program and to submit a comment, visit www.landtrustaccreditation.org. Comments may also be faxed or mailed to the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, Attn: Public Comments: (fax) 518-587-3183; (mail) 112 Spring St., Suite 204, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.  Comments on Bedminster Land Conservancy’s application will be most useful if received by the above office by July 30, 2007.
